Gate Installation & Automatic Gate Openers in Centennial, CO

Walk gates, double drive gates and motorized entries for properties from Dove Valley to the Parker Road corridor.

The Service

The Part of Your Fence That Actually Moves

Gate installation in Centennial is the service we get called about most often after the fact, because a gate is the only part of a fence subject to thousands of load cycles a year. Everything else stands still. Centennial Fence Installation builds gates as their own engineering problem rather than as an afterthought at the end of a fence run. That means upsized posts set deeper than the line posts, frames braced so they cannot rack into a parallelogram, and hinges chosen for the actual weight of the leaf. On the automation side we install swing and slide operators with keypads, remotes, vehicle sensing and the safety devices that prevent a gate closing on a car or a child. Driveway entries along Parker Road and Smoky Hill Road and equipment yards near Dove Valley make up most of the automated work we do, alongside residential courtyard and side-yard gates.

What Gate Work Covers

Gate and operator work is quoted as separate lines so you can see exactly what each part costs.

01

Opening measurement and swing assessment

We measure the opening, check the grade across the arc, and confirm whether the gate can swing without catching the driveway rise, the issue that causes most dragging gates.

02

Colorado 811 locate for posts and conduit

Filed before digging post holes and any conduit trench for power or low-voltage runs.

03

Upsized gate posts set deeper

Gate posts carry cantilevered weight, so they are larger diameter, set deeper, and given a bigger concrete footing than anything else on the run.

04

Welded or through-bolted frames

Walk and drive gate frames are welded steel or heavy aluminum, with a diagonal brace or tension cable so the leaf cannot sag out of square over time.

05

Cladding to match the fence

Frames are clad in cedar, vinyl, composite or ornamental panel so the gate reads as part of the fence rather than a bolted-on afterthought.

06

Hardware rated to leaf weight

Hinges, latches, drop rods and cane bolts are selected against the actual weight and width of the gate, not against what came in a kit.

07

Cantilever and rolling slide gates

Where a swing arc will not work we build cantilever slide gates on proper rollers and counterbalance, which keeps the gate off the ground and out of the snow.

08

Automatic operator installation

Swing arm or slide operators sized to the gate, mounted on a proper pad, with conduit run for power and controls.

09

Access controls and safety devices

Keypads, remotes, exit wands, vehicle loop or photo-eye sensing and auto-reverse are installed and tested so the gate stops rather than closing on an obstruction.

10

Operation training and adjustment

Before we leave we run the gate through its full cycle with you, set the travel limits and force settings, and show you how to release it manually in a power outage.

The Process

From Opening to Automated Entry

01

Assessment

We measure the opening, check the slope across the swing path, look at where power can reach, and ask how the gate will be used day to day. A gate opened twice a day and a gate opened forty times a day get different hardware. You get a written price covering the gate, the operator and the electrical work as separate lines.

02

Build and set

Posts go in first with larger footings and a full cure, because an operator mounted on a green footing will pull it out of plumb. Frames are fabricated and clad, then hung and adjusted until the gate swings true and latches without being lifted.

03

Automation and commissioning

Conduit is run, the operator is mounted and wired, and controls are programmed. We set the open and close limits, dial in the force sensitivity, test the safety reversal deliberately with an obstruction, and walk you through remotes, keypad codes and the manual release. Nothing gets signed off until the full cycle runs clean.

Why Our Gates Keep Working

Posts sized for a moving load

A gate post carries weight that swings out away from it, which is a completely different load than a line post carries. Ours are upsized and set deeper as standard, and that is the single reason our gates are still square years later.

Safety devices are not optional

An automated gate is a powered machine near people and vehicles. Photo eyes, force sensing and auto-reverse go on every operator we install, and we test the reversal in front of you before we take payment.

We come back and adjust

Every gate settles slightly in its first season. A single adjustment visit is included with every gate we install, because a latch that needs a quarter inch is not something you should have to live with or pay for.

Get the Gate Built Right the First Time

A dragging gate or one that has to be lifted to latch is not something that improves on its own, and a new gate hung on the old undersized posts will fail the same way. Let us look at the opening and quote it properly, whether that is a simple walk gate or a full automated driveway entry.
